2009 - Kids Cuts Fundraising
Every year we see a growing interest from kids in our community who want to
make a difference and help raise funds in support of Sam’s Day. If you know a
child, a school class, or a kids’ organization interested in raising money to
support Sam’s Day please contact us! This “Kids
Believe in SickKids Handbook” will help parents and educators support kids
in getting started with their fundraising initiatives. Kids can also have fun by
going to "Create
Your Own SickKids Webpage" to support their fundraising campaign with
on-line giving.

Hi, my name is Alyson Love. At Sam's Day 2008, Sam's brother Ben and
dad Jay challenged me to grow my hair until this year's event (June 6,
2009) . At first, I didn't think anything about it. Then, a couple days
after, I decided I would do it for real. I really wanted to do this
because about 2 years ago, I volunteered at Sam's Day and fell in love
with Sam's story. I then decided that I was going to help by making
bracelets. I still do and I have raised more than I ever thought. Now, I
want to help more, and that's why I'm doing "Dancer's Cut For A Cure". I
am so excited to find out how much I can actually raise. Hey, guess
what? Now my best friend Kendra says that if I overpass my goal and
raise $2000, she will cut her hair too! This is for Sam and Ben! Raised
as of March 10, 2009: $1,172

Please join me for Angelique's Cut for Cancer!
I'm fundraising in support of SickKids and would be honoured if you
would join me.
To raise funds for SickKids, here's what I plan to do:
I am asking friends and family to donate to my campaign to cut my
beautiful long hair. If I raise over $250.00 I will cut a minimum of 10
inches, and donate it to Angel Hair for Kids to make a wig for kids that
are going through cancer treatments. All money raised will go to Sam's
Day - which raises money for Neuroblastoma research at SickKids
Hospital. My friend from church, Sam Lack, had Neuroblastoma and I am
happy to be helping with this great cause! Come and see me cut my hair
at the Sam's Day Rock N' Bowl event on June 6th!!

Hi my name is Tess. My friend Sam and I like to do fun stuff, like
the climbing wall at my house, sometimes my Dad takes us out for lunch.
Sam has Cancer. He has been cancer free for 4 years and is going to have
his 6th birthday this June. Every day on his birthday Sam's Day is held
to raise money to fight cancer. Sam is special to me and I wanted to do
something special for him. So I decided to grow my hair and cut it off
and donate it to Angel Hair for Kids (to make a wig for kids that are
going through cancer treatments) and ask friends and family to pledge me
and raise money for neuroblastoma research (the kind of cancer my friend

Hi my name is Olivia. I have been growing my hair and have decided
to cut it off to donate it to Angel Hair for Kids. This organization
makes wigs for kids that are going through cancer treatments. I have
decided to cut my hair at a fundraiser called Sam's Day - which is a
fundraiser for Sick Kids Hospital. I am excited to be able to help -

Hi my name is Sophia...I have been growing my long
hair for quite some time. I have decided to cut it off and donate my
hair to Angel Hair for Kids to be used for making a wig for a child that
is going through cancer treatments. I am collecting pledges to raise
money for Sam's Day which is a fundraiser for Sick Kids Hospital. My
friend Sam's family started the event to raise awareness and funds for
pediatric cancer research at Sick Kids Hospital. Sam had a rare form of
childhood cancer called Neuroblastoma - he is doing great now but we
want to help more kids that are still fighting!! Please pledge me today

I am 11 years old and shaving my head for cancer. It
should be a really fun day with all proceeds going to Pediatric Cancer
Research at Sick Kids Hospital. I am also canvassing and raised over
$195.00 so far. Sick kids will email you (within a few minutes) a tax
